A Members only bowls drive with a red, white and blue theme (to celebrate belatedly The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee which had to be cancelled at an earlier event due to bad weather) saw 23 players taking part with John White emerging as the overall winner, Rod Back as runner up and Dee Wilkinson in third. The winner of the ‘best dressed’ competition was David Fulcher with a fantastic hat to go with his outfit. On a pleasantly warm afternoon, 9 teams comprising of 4 people enjoyed the Fun Bowls event. There was the challenge of 12 different games per round which were completed 3 times, with a break for tea & biscuits. The winners were Team 6 which consisted of Ron Butler, Helen Butler, David Fulcher & Dee Wilkinson with a total of 3460 points, and the runners up were Team 7 comprising of Beris Blanch, Hannah Blanch, Steve Blanch & Grace Glenton with a total of 2845 points. After the conclusion of play, 39 people enjoyed their ‘chip shop tea’ in the Clubhouse.

With the removal of Covid restrictions, it was wonderful to see such a good turnout for the much anticipated ‘sing along’ at Spixworth Village Hall. Tea & homemade cakes, served by some of the club’s ladies were enjoyed by all. Hopefully this event is the first of many activities which have been arranged for the new season.

This quintessential British classical music celebration at Spixworth Village Hall saw Taverham Brass Band perform there first concert in 2022. Much flag waving and singing took place, and made for a most enjoyable patriotic evening.

The competition made up of randomly selected teams, saw 6 sets of triples compete against each other. The overall winners were Ron Butler, Morag McEwan & Jack Stanley, the runners up were Ann Stagg, Beris Blanch & Grace Glenton.
