Fun Bowls Saturday 3rd September 2022

A total of 33 players dodged the heavy showers to take part in the last fun bowls of the season. The team consisting of Beris, Peter & Marian, and enthusiastically assisted by their grandson Archie, emerged as overall winners. Runners up spot went to Ann, Veronica, Pat Gormley, Sue B & Sue P. A ‘chip shop’ tea was enjoyed by players plus some spectators, and Scooby Doo even made an appearance at the tombola, much to Archie’s delight.

Midsummer Event – Saturday 13th August 2022

A Members only bowls drive with a red, white and blue theme (to celebrate belatedly The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee which had to be cancelled at an earlier event due to bad weather) saw 23 players taking part with John White emerging as the overall winner, Rod Back as runner up and Dee Wilkinson in third. The winner of the ‘best dressed’ competition was David Fulcher with a fantastic hat to go with his outfit. Tom Turner Trophy – 26th June 2022

The Members only competition, consisting of self-selected teams of 3, took place on a warm but pleasantly breezy afternoon. 7 sets of players took part, with the team consisting of Ron & Helen Butler & Dee Wilkinson emerging as overall winners, and John & Di White & Grace Glenton taking the runners up spot. The ‘bring a plate of food to share’ worked well, with a wide variety of sweet & savoury delights available for players, family & friends to enjoy.

Fun bowls- 21st May 2022

On a pleasantly warm afternoon, 9 teams comprising of 4 people enjoyed the Fun Bowls event. There was the challenge of 12 different games per round which were completed 3 times, with a break for tea & biscuits. The winners were Team 6 which consisted of Ron Butler, Helen Butler, David Fulcher & Dee Wilkinson with a total of 3460 points, and the runners up were Team 7 comprising of Beris Blanch, Hannah Blanch, Steve Blanch & Grace Glenton with a total of 2845 points. After the conclusion of play, 39 people enjoyed their ‘chip shop tea’ in the Clubhouse.
