The cheese & wine evening was the first social event since Covid, and it was very pleasing to see that it was well attended, and successfully raised some money for club funds. The bowls drive was won by Peter Betts.

Once again Ann, kindly assisted by Jim, committee and club members provided a delicious meal, followed by donated desserts for 41 members, friends & partners. Not only was it good to see the clubhouse full of people enjoying themselves, but it also raised funds for the club. The bowls drive before the meal, saw long standing member Mary Marshall win, with Jack Steward as runner up.

The competition commenced on 11th August with 8 pairs taking part. The competition played on a round robin basis was won by John & Di White, with Duncan & Iain McEwan taking the runners’ up spot.

It was lovely to see some normality return with the first internal club competition taking place this year on a beautiful sunny afternoon. The event was well supported, with 21 players playing up to 5 games of 5 ends each. After a hard-fought contest, the overall winners were the husband and wife team of John & Di White, accompanied by John Nuttall.
