On a warm and pleasant afternoon, a total of thirty eight members, family and friends enjoyed the
last Fun Bowls Event of this season.
Seven teams took part in the competition, which this time was won by Team 6 with an overall score
of 3600 points. The winning team consisted of Steve, Beris, Hannah and Amie Blanch together with
Peter Betts. Well done to the winners who were 375 points ahead of their nearest rival.
After the Fun Bowls had finished the green was quickly cleared, and all participants took part in a Spider; this
consisted of all the players making a large circle around the edge of the green and bowling one
‘wood’ simultaneously toward a cot in the centre of the green. A measure was needed to determine the winner, which was Jack Steward, who won a bottle of Prosecco provided and presented by our Chairman
and Green Keeper Steve Blanch, Suzie Crooks was a very close second.
All participants in the afternoon were asked to bring a plate of food to share and an excellent varied buffet of both savoury & sweet treats were enjoyed by everyone.
A big thank you to all who set up the green in the morning, organised and ran the tombola stall, made
the tea and coffee, ran the bar, washed up and cleared up afterwards. A big thank you to John White for once again organising the teams, and to his daughter Rachel for taking the photos.
Another great team effort.
