We pride ourselves on being a friendly club, welcoming players of all standards during the playing season of mid April to mid September. We offer bowls on both an informal and competitive basis. In addition, we arrange non-bowls activities throughout the year which you can join in with if you choose.
To help you settle in, here are the main things about the club, but any questions please ask.
The Clubhouse
The focus for our social activities, with kitchen, bar area and toilet facilities. Members have access to it with a key on payment of a £5 refundable deposit (please ask a member of the committee).
Informal Roll ups
These are on Tuesday & Friday afternoons at 2pm. Just turn up and play. £2 Green fee payable.
Please note bowls shoes must be worn on the green at all times.
Competitive Play
We play in several leagues during the week, one is in the afternoon, and others in the evenings. For all competitive play, grey trousers/skirt and white tops are required.
As a Full Member, at the beginning of the season you will be given a fixture list for afternoon & evening matches, on which you state your availability for the whole season and also indicate how often you would like to play. Once the teams have been selected an updated fixture list will be produced showing which matches you will be playing in. If subsequently you are unable to play in a match for which you have been selected, please advise the appropriate Team Captain at the earliest opportunity.
All league games are played both home and away.
There is a fee of £2 per match.
Afternoon League
All games start at 2pm with 18 ends using 3 woods. It is normal for home games that there is a raffle, so donations for this would be appreciated. Tea & biscuits are usually served.
Evening Leagues
The Wensum League is rink play with 3 woods, the others (NBA & Business House) are both 2 woods roving cot.
Please refer to fixture list for start times, as times do vary throughout the season.
